Policy and notes

  • A 25% deposit of the holiday cost is payable at the time of booking.
  • The deposit/full payment must be paid within 3 days of the booking being placed.
  • Holidaymakers who cancel at least 60 days before check-in will get back 100% of the amount that they've paid. If they cancel between 30 and 60 days before check-in, they'll get back 50%. Otherwise, they won't get a refund.

Short walk to village

The village of Chalabre with its bakery, butchers, bars and mini supermarket are just a short walk away. The village also hosts the Chalabre en Sérénade which is a 3 day music festival held in the month of August

Maison Carrée is in an ideal self-catering rental located in the region in France know as Cather Country with its numerous castles, abbeys and medieval towns and vilages.  It's positioned just a few minutes stroll to Chalabre village. The village is very well served with a hotel with a restaurant, two bars, butchers, two small supermarkets, pharmacy, doctors, bank, tourist information office, post office there is also a small local market on Saturday mornings.

Cather Country

The Aude region is know for its numerous castles, abbeys and medieval towns and villages. 

Maison Carrée is positioned just a few minutes stroll to Chalabre village. The village is very well served with a hotel with a restaurant, two bars, butchers, two small supermarkets, pharmacy, doctors, bank, tourist information office, post office there is also a small local market on Saturday mornings.

August sees the Its unique concept of balcony serenades , its Masterclasses allowing budding artists to perfect their art, this colorful talent discovery festival amazes all the senses. Some of the most beautiful and prestigious local, national and even international musical groups will be in the spotlight.

The three rivers

Two small streams, the Chalabreil and the Blau, flow through the village and into the Hers. Chalabre has been host to The River Festival and culminated with showcases of local art, bespoke exhibition, local associations entertained the crowds including a crochet workshop, photographers, live music and poetry. 

Tour de France

The Tour de France has passed through Chalabre several times and it is quite a spectacle. When it does Maison Carrée Chalabre is a great place to stay.

Lac de Montbel

Lac de Montbel is a beautiful lake located in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of southern France. It is situated near the town of Chalabre and is surrounded by picturesque hills and forests.
Ideal with the arrival of the hot weather in July and August, the lake is the ideal place to cool off! To enjoy the lake and swim, head to Leran.
